Philippines: Negros Occidental

Janel Nemeno

Janel Nemeno and his wife, Jethre Joy, are serving the Lord on the Island of Negros Occidental in the Philippines. After finishing high school at the age of fifteen, Janel enrolled as a student at Bible Baptist College under the leadership of Dr. Armie Jesalva. After graduating from Bible College, Janel planted his first church in Badian, Cebu, where he ministered for six years. In 2009, he and Jethre Joy were married. Her father was a pastor but, after their marriage, he suffered seven strokes before he went home to be with the Lord. Before his homegoing, the church called Janel as their pastor. He was able to lead the church in renovating their building, but in 2011, the building was destroyed in a fire. Out of the ashes, Pastor Janel challenged the people to “RISE UP AND BUILD.” They were able to purchase a larger piece of land with an existing building. By 2018, God enabled them to pay off the property and the owner who sold it got saved! At this point, (2026) Pastor Janel has served as pastor for 18 years at Berean Bible Baptist Church in Binalbagan. God continues to bless the ministry of this main church, and they have now been able to plant nineteen mission churches. Please pray for them as they continue to carry out the Great Commission.
